Obi-Wan Kenobi says "Hello there." |
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... or maybe, just a couple years ago, here on Earth... I occasionally posted to this blog. Board game reviews, crafts and cosplays I made, convention and travel plans.
Before the dark times. Before the Empire.
I mean... before the pandemic.
It all began with participation in Five Fandom Fridays, which is where I met some of my favorite online buddies/mutuals. Started by Megan and Kristin (formerly theNerdyGirlie and SuperSpaceChick, if you were around in those days), 5FF was a great way to find interesting blogs from fellow fangirls/creators/nerds/people who shared your online niche. That was a really great time and even led to meeting up with some on you IRL at SDCC and NYCC.
I moved my old posts to private around the start of the Covid-19 pandemic due to an influx of spam comments. It was one less thing to worry about with everything going on. I'm sure I'll eventually reinstate some of them once I have a chance to review their content, but for now they can remain in the cargo hold while I decide if I'm going to continue using this platform or migrate elsewhere.
So why am I posting anything now? Well, with the incoming death of Twitter and monetization of formerly "free" social media sites, I thought it might be a good idea to have one place online where I could try to reconnect with people.
You can also find me at my usual handle (same username as here) on Twitter, @Mastodon.social, Hive, Spoutible, and Instagram. Hope to see some of you out there.
