Five Fandom Friday Movie List Results

I saw this tweet earlier today:

And being the anthropologist/nerd that I am, I made a quick spreadsheet.

My data came from the blogs linked on SuperSpaceChick's post, plus one messaged to me on Twitter.  Including SuperSpaceChick and TheNerdyGirlie, there were 17 blogs linked.  While it took longer to type up this post than it did to rank the movies, I chose not to hunt through the #Fandom5 tag on Twitter to find blogs.

There were 79 individual items mentioned - these included 64 movies, 11 TV shows, 3 table top games, and a book.  I included the Top 5 entries as well as any honorable mentions included in each post.  For movies in a series, some blogs grouped them together (eg. The Addams Family and Addams Family Values, 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later) so I combined all mentions of the individual movies.

The most frequent entries were:
Nightmare Before Christmas                           9 total mentions, 8 in Top 5
Hocus Pocus                                                    8 total mentions, 7 in Top 5
Casper                                                              5 total mentions, all in Top 5
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!          4 total mentions, all in Top 5
The Addams Family/Values                            4 total mentions, 3 in Top 5

In the middle we had:
Shaun of the Dead                                          3 total mentions, all in Top 5
The Craft                                                        3 total mentions, 2 in Top 5
Coraline                                                          3 total mentions, 1 in Top 5
Halloweentown                                              2 total mentions, all in Top 5
Castle - Vampire Weekend episode               2 total mentions, all in Top 5
Zombieland                                                     2 total mentions, all in Top 5
28 Days/Weeks Later                                     2 total mentions, all in Top 5
Trick'r'Treat                                                    2 total mentions, all in Top 5
House of 1000 Corpses                                  2 total mentions, all in Top 5
Friday the 13th                                               2 total mentions, 1 in Top 5
Sleepy Hollow                                                2 total mentions, none in Top 5

It was a lot of fun doing this, since it made me go and read every linked blog post, many of which I didn't see yesterday!  There were some great movies listed, and several that I had never seen before.  I also love the variety - kid-friendly movies, gore, demonic possession, etc.

Ok, I guess I've procrastinated enough.  Time to do laundry!
